Deathpact burst onto the scene in 2018 with their release of Danger, and several months later released their collab with Rezz titled Life and Death. Keeping up with the mystery behind the mask, Deathpact's identity is unknown, and their marketing strategies are equally as mysterious.
With lockboxes containing USBs popping up around the country, as well as advertisements with lines of source code, QR codes, and base 64-encoded imagery, the clues eventually led to Deathpact. The campaign was labeled a 'Deathdrop,' and once all the clues were discovered, Deathpact released his 'Cipher One' EP. With the creation of a discord, the next 'Deathdrop' was created, leading to Deathpact's 'Cipher Two' EP. With each new piece of music, Deathpact has increased the mystery behind their project, which eventually led to their debut live performance, or 'materialization' at Shamble Music Festival in 2019.
Each new release of Deathpact's has continued the trend of listeners cracking some sort of puzzle or code to uncover. The release date of SPLIT//PERSONALITY was left up to fans, as once they had figured out the puzzles Deathpact had created, the EP was released.
With no releases since 2021, when they released both SPLIT//PERSONALITY and SPLIT//PERSONALITY PT. 02, the world awaits Deathpact's next release, searching for new clues and to solve the next mystery.
The conundrum behind Deathpact and their upcoming releases has yet to be solved, and their live performances are being waited on with bated breath. To keep up with Deathpact and never miss a show, make sure to check out our app and website to never miss a performance.
