Dubstep fans know Doctor P and Flux Pavilion as two legends, and they've known each other as friends for more than two decades and as co-founders of their label Circus Records for over 15 years. Now for the first time ever, the two OGs have unleashed a collaborative studio album and accompanying tour highlighting their friendship, musical expertise and inviting fans to weigh in on the state of dubstep in 2025.
Shaun Brockhurst and Joshua Steele, better known as Doctor P and Flux Pavilion respectively, dropped their highly anticipated self-titled, 15-track album via their label on the Thursday before Ultra Music Festival. They played their first back-to-back set in their new duo form at Ultra Miami day 3, packing in their biggest tracks and blowing away fans in the rain. It was the debut of Doctor P & Flux Pavilion – a lethal combo that is set to take the US and global bass scene by storm.
The album is a master class on filthy and genre-bending beats and takes listeners on a nonstop headbanging journey exploring sounds of the past, present and pushing the limits of the future. I Love It blends 90s disco and a nightmare groove, Feel Good Ltd literally makes the body feel good, and Rubber Dub is as heavy and rhythmic as its name suggests. Every track on 'Doctor P & Flux Pavilion' is automatically appealing and showcases the depth of their collective skill.
Brockhurst and Steele grew up in a small town in the United Kingdom and decided to form a band as teenagers. Brockhurst played the drums and Steele rocked guitar, but the two soon got into turntables and started Circus Records in 2009. During a sit-down interview with Edmtrain editor and writer Jessica Gail after their set at the Ultra Worldwide Stage, Doctor P shared:
"I mean it's just amazing to still be here. You know when we started the label in the beginning, you just don't know what's going to happen. You don't know if it's just going to be a complete failure or if you're going to get five years and then it's going to die, but knowing that we've now made it to 15 years and we're still here, we're still coming to Ultra, it's just incredible. I never could have imagined that we'd still be going there."

They are going into their tour with an open mind and undecided if they'll ever do another one like it again, so they're going all-in. Flux Pavilion explained:
"It's like we may never do a back-to-back tour ever again, so let's make this one the best ever. And it's kind of taken that mentality to make it so that anyone who comes along who's a fan of dubstep or a fan of bass music and doesn't even know that much about us, will get a completely pure Doctor P and Flux Pavilion experience and will walk out of that club going like, 'holy shit, I know what those guys are about', and that's the dream."

Last week, they announced over a dozen tour dates across North America with stops including Tampa, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago and San Francisco, and will be on the road from June through at least October. They are also working to book shows in the UK and Europe. The two childhood friends have become icons in their own right, but what they can do together live is about to be seen. To keep up with Doctor P & Flux Pavilion and never miss a set or release, be sure to follow them on our platform to stay informed.
