This past Saturday, Kx5, thé DJ duo comprised of Kaskade and Deadmau5, played at the Los Angeles Coliseum. This is only the second time Kx5 have preformed live together, the first being at EDC Las Vegas 2022 which overwhelmed the Circuit Grounds stage. Kx5 was first announced February 28th of 2022 along with their single ‘Escape’ featuring Hayla
The event was hosted by Insomniac and Live Nation. The event opened its doors to over 46 thousand + patrons breaking records.
According to Kx5's post following the event, it was confirmed by Pollstar with Billboard that the Kx5 show was the ‘largest single-day concert headlined by an electronic music artist ever in North America’ as well as the ‘biggest ticketed global headliner dance event of 2022’.
The event hosted headliners Kx5 but their support was a juggernaut in his own right! John Summit opened for the duo and got the crowd going in a way only Summit could. Summit performed from 7:45 - 8:45pm premiering a highly anticipated ID ‘I Wanna To Be Where You Are’  which Summit teased on November 22nd in an Instagram story and tweet.
Kx5 at the LA Coliseum also featured opening sounds by Triple XL and Anna Lunoe beginning at 5:30pm.
The production for this record breaking event was not lacking in any capacity. While the stage was on the smaller side in comparison to the venue, Insomniac and Kx5 did not spare any expense in the production quality. There were large LED screens, excessive lighting and tons of pyro on stage. The heat of the pyro was so great that everyone from the stadium floor and walls felt the heat from the flames. The sound quality was excellent as there were sound towers spread out everywhere so that no matter where you were, it was loud and received plenty of bass. Finally, the event hosted hundreds of drones to add to the visual experience.
It is also worth noting that the LA Coliseum had great amenities and organization. There were lots of parking places to park your vehicle around the area and at the venue. Getting inside the venue was rather quick with many gates to enter and exit from. Attendees were able to fuel in with pretzels, churros, hot dogs, beers, liquor and more. The venue was broken up into multiple sections including VIP floor, GA floor and specific sections around the stadium. The LA Coliseum was extremely organized with people around to assist you to find your section.
Overall, this was one of the most successful events of 2022. However, with so much energy being used at the LA Coliseum the power went out for a few minutes. Nonetheless, this event was absolutely stellar and leaves one wondering where Kx5 will strike next?
