Lollapalooza has long been recognized internationally as one of the biggest festivals, and the appeal for dance music fans is greater than ever for this year’s edition. The mixed-genre festival returns to historic Grant Park in downtown Chicago, along the shores of Lake Michigan from August 3 to 6, 2023. Lolla boasts eight big stages and more than 170 artists across four days.
It is bringing not only some of the biggest DJs, but also famous bands, pop and hip hop stars and rappers.
If Lolla had us at one name, it would be Fred again.. who is playing at the T-Mobile stage from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. on Friday. But Lolla had us at many more names.
On Thursday, Diplo closes out Perry’s stage from 8:30 to 9:45 p.m. Before him are Dom Dolla from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m, Timmy Trumpet from 6 to 7 p.m. and ACRAZE from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. That’s not the only stage with electronic acts – the Bud Light stage hosts SOFI TUKKER from 5 to 6 p.m. Even for dance music diehards, it’s always a good idea to check out headliners in other genres. Attendees will want to catch at least some of Billie Eilish on the T-Mobile stage from 8:45 p.m. until close.
Friday will have dance music fans flocking to see Fred again.., without a doubt one of the biggest names in the scene these days and a rare act at festivals. It speaks loudly to the status of Lolla that Fred again.. is playing. As Lolla said in its post, "lineup stacked fr". Perry’s stage will be very pleasing to bass heads, with Subtronics closing from 8:30 to 9:45 p.m., SVDDEN DEATH from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m., Diesel a.k.a. Shaq from 6 to 7 p.m., Ray Volpe from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. and Blanke from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. In the mix on that stage is future bass duo ARMNHMR from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
On Saturday, a headliner is ODESZA, who will bring their live show with a drum line and other instruments, cinematic visuals and pyrotechnics to the T-Mobile stage at 8:45 p.m. House heads will be in heaven at Perry’s stage with Nora En Pure from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., AC Slater from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. and Solardo from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Another act on that stage that will be sure to dazzle is the Italian trio MEDUZA on from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The last day, Sunday, has a diverse lineup of dance music acts on Perry's stage. House devotees will enjoy Matroda from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m., Wax Motif from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Gorgon City from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. Electro house lover will get lit to Afrojack from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. and Alan Walker from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Future bass duo Louis The Child will close it out from 8:45 to 9:45 p.m. One headliner is a must-see – the Red Hot Chili Peppers from 8:30 p.m. to close at the T-Mobile stage. And it will be lovely to also catch Lana Del Rey at the Bud Light stage from 8:30 p.m. to close.
Lollapalooza GA, GA+, VIP and Platinum tickets, including single and two-day options, can be purchased here. Various ticket types are already sold out, but have waitlists. And the fun doesn't stop at the festival. Lolla has after parties at 20 venues in Chicago from Tuesday to Sunday, including an ODESZA DJ set on Saturday at PRYSM nightclub.
