Hardstyle duo Sub Zero Project have exploded in popularity from their home country of The Netherlands to all over the world including North America. Nigel Coppen and Thomas Velderman began producing as teenagers in 2014 and have since played the biggest stages in dance music from Tomorrowland to Electric Daisy Carnival to Ultra Music Festival and hard dance events like Defqon.1 Weekend Festival. Their signature bangers and high-quality productions have made them one of the most sought-after hardstyle acts.
Sub Zero Project have enraptured more than 1.6 million monthly Spotify listeners with their hits Halo, Our Church, Darkest Hour and Trip To Mars. They closed out Tomorrowland Winter's Cage stage this year in Alpe d'Huez, France, with some new music and remixes and mashups. On Thursday, they released Liberation in collaboration with Hard Driver. The track has an immediate build to a massive drop elevating the call to "break away" to "liberation". It features three adrenaline-infused drops and Sub Zero Project has asked fans which one they like best. Fans have already given raving reviews for all three drops.
Before their set at Tomorrowland Winter in March, Nigel and Thomas told Edmtrain editor and writer Jessica Gail in a sit-down interview that they recently played in New York City and Seattle and are geared up for more shows in the US this year.
"We have a lot of stuff planned for USA... those clubs were really packed and crowded so it was really cool too that people are actually catching on to hard dance."
— Nigel Coppen
Immediately after playing Tomorrowland Winter, Sub Zero Project jetted off to Ultra Miami for a set at the UMF Radio Stage and they are heading to EDC Las Vegas this weekend to play at the wasteLAND stage on Saturday. That's only the beginning of the packed festival season for the duo, who are also performing at Tomorrowland's 20th anniversary edition in Belgium at The Rose Garden on Weekend 1 and at the Freedom stage on Weekend 2.
Following their studio albums 'Contagion' in 2019 and 'Renaissance of Rave' in 2022, Sub Zero Project have continued to release big singles. They toured their live show Psychodelic last year and have created a hard-hitting visual ROBOT RAVOLUTION concept with TECHNOBOTS as the first single unleashed in April.
The duo have been dropping an I Follow Rivers remake collab with 3 Are Legend that fans are waiting for, and said they are looking to work with Steve Aoki, among other artists, in the near future.
